Since 2001, Eve Beglarian has been creating Book of Days, which features a recording, accompanied by images or video, for each day of the year. The on-going project is at 130 days. The Los Angeles Times wrote that Book of Days is, “a grand and gradually manifesting work in progress…an eclectic and wide-open series of enticements.” The project is one of a kind.
Begelarian is a composer and performer. She was featured by Arts Boston in 2018 as a LGBT composer you should know. Her awards inlcude the Alpert Award in the Arts (2017) and Robert Rauschenberg Prize from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts (2015).
Her chamber, choral, and orchestral music has been commissioned and widely, including (but not certainly not limited to): the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the American Composers Orchestra, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Sequitur, and the Ekmeles Vocal Ensemble.
