Scheduled to be released in 2021, Parev Mama (Hello Mother) is a short film written and directed by Natalie Shirinian.
Shirinian has been featured in Vogue, InStyle’s February 2020 Badass Women Issue, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, and The New York Times. Her debut film was Interior Motives, a documentary exploring the interconnectedness of fashion and interior design. In 2019, the film won Best Short Documentary at IFS Los Angeles and Best Short Documentary Berlin Short Film Festival. Shirinian is the founder of NES FILMS.
Parev Mama, follows a first-generation Armenian American lgbtq+ 30 year old woman living in Los Angeles as she is faced with the repercussions of her traditional Armenian mother when coming home late after a night out with her girlfriend, Rita.
