Published in 2017, Pride & Joy: LGBTQ Artists, Icons, and Everyday Heroes by Kathleen Archambeau is a celebration of queer lives as she writes biographies, profiles, and stories of queer folx.
One of the artists she writes about is Thea Farhadian, a composer, professional violinist, and co-founder of the Armenian Film Festival, NYC and San Francisco.
Musicians attaching objects to instruments to create a different sound started in the 1960s and opens up and expands the vocabulary of contemporary music. I would characterize my music as primarily abstract, very sound-based material that integrates tonality and micro tonality.
Thea Farhadian, Pride & Joy
The mission of Pride & Joy is to inspire Queer folx, to see the vast possibility of what life can be and could be for a Queer person.
